A SECURITY TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY
The company were on a security transformation journey to secure users in any location due to a shift in hybrid working. They had an ambitious growth strategy – and when they first engaged EveryCloud, they had recently completed their latest acquisition and were looking to simplify their estate in a future-proof manner.
They had multiple security solutions and management consoles – and lacked an integrated platform to support their cloud-first strategy, protect against cloud-based threats, and secure applications such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, SAP, and Workday.
Furthermore, they had suffered a ransomware attack a couple of years previously, and the board had given the IT Director the remit of significantly reducing their cyber security risk. The existing web security solution did not have the required granular controls, and only provided protection when users were connected via VPNs.
They also had limited DLP controls and this issue was exacerbated by a significant shadow IT estate.
EveryCloud worked with the IT team on these challenges and use cases – and helped design a transition plan from their current state architecture to a future state based on a scalable and future-proof SSE security infrastructure.
CLOUD-NATIVE WEB SECURITY TO PROTECT DATA, PREVENT THREATS AND CONTROL CLOUD APPLICATIONS
EveryCloud worked with the IT Director, preparing a transformation plan to replace previous disparate solutions previously with a platform approach – including a single-vendor SSE architecture using the Netskope cloud security platform.
The first phase was to deploy Netskope’s Next-Generation Secure Web Gateway as the foundation for SSE web and cloud inline security providing threat and data protection. This has provided immediate benefits by protecting users and critical data across all global locations, whilst giving visibility and control across all cloud services. EveryCloud assisted the client in setting up real-time protection policies around web access control, data loss prevention and CCI (cloud confidence index) controls.
Having now embarked on a holistic platform approach, the company is now working with EveryCloud on its next phase in leveraging the Netskope SSE stack – namely introducing Zero Trust Network Access to replace its legacy VPN infrastructure and enable ‘least privileged access’ across its user base.
